Practical Essentials

The tour goes for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. 

The tour begins at Bradbenken 1, a brick building located outside the Bergenhus Fortress. 

We walk approximately 3km (2 miles) over the course of the tour. We consider this tour to be a moderate tour, as we go up and down hill on cobblestone and stairs. 

We operate this tour no matter the weather 🙂 

Yes, we require all bookings to be made in advance. 

We are happy to cancel or change bookings up to 24 hours before the tour begins. We are unable to refund any booking within 24 hours of the tour starting. 

Tour Experience

No – the entire tour is outdoors. No museum or entrance is included. 

No – the tour is two hours of walking. 

No – the only option for toilets is either at the beginning or the end of the tour. 

Our groups are up to 16 guests.

Tour Logistics

Our tour starts just outside the Bergenhus Fortress, which is in the old town centre. It’s within a 15 minute walk of almost every hotel and cruise pier in the city centre of Bergen. 

There are two places with stairs that cannot be avoided. If you want a tour that avoids stairs, we recommend booking a private tour. 

Our public tours are available in English, German and Spanish. 

Of course, but please be aware that we don’t start our tours on the cruise pier. Refer to our FAQ page for more information.
