When browsing and/or booking a walking tour with I Love Bergen, you have read, understood and accepted to the following terms and conditions.

  1. Booking

When you make a booking, you confirm that you have the authority to accept financial responsibility on behalf of yourself and any travelling companions.

You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking.

All bookings must be finalised before the walking tour begins. I.e. your tour booking must be booked, confirmed, and paid for.

1a. Terms of Payment

When booking a walking tour, the full amount is charge upon booking.

  • TERMS OF CANCELLATION

2a. Cancellation by the customer

  • Customers may cancel up to 7 days before the tour start date for a full refund
  • A cancellation fee of 50% applies to cancellations made less than 7 days in advance
  • A cancellation fee of 100% applies for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance

2b. Cancellation by the company

We reserve the right to cancel our tour due to several factors. This includes:

  • Minimum participant not met: Our tours require at least three people to run. If this minimum is not met, we reserve the right to cancel the tour. You will be given the option of being rebooked on an alternative date or receiving a full refund.
  • Bad weather: Bergen is the rainiest city in Norway, but we do not cancel the tour due to rain. We do, however, cancel the tour if there are blizzards, hailstorms, large amounts of ice on the ground, or strong winds forecast. That is to be determined by the company and the guide running the tour, not the customer.
  • Injury or illness to the guide: In the case of our guide being sick or injured, we will do our best to find a replacement guide. If we cannot find a replacement, we will cancel the tour and issue a full refund.
  • Force Majeure or circumstances we cannot control. This includes weather conditions, breakdowns, protests, war, significant road closures, etc.
  • TOUR ATTENDANCE

By booking a tour, the customer agrees to be at the tour at the start time. I Love Bergen reserves the right to cancel any booking where the customer is more than 15 minutes late at a 100% cancellation fee.

3a. No Show

No refunds are given if you fail to arrive at the agreed time and place. This applies if you arrive more than 15 minutes late without advising us. A cancellation fee of 100% applies for no shows. You will not be offered to be moved to a different timeslot; you must make a new booking.

3b. Your Obligation

You are obliged to ensure that your health and fitness level and that of your travelling companions are suitable for the tour. “A Walk Through Bergen Past & Present” and “Historic Nordnes” are medium-level tours with stairs, cobblestones and hills. We do not offer refunds or alternative routes if you are unable to do the route we have planned.

You are also obliged to inform us if you are travelling with a wheelchair, pet, or stroller.

We reserve the right to cancel any booking with a 100% cancellation fee should this not be followed.

3c. Risk of Injury

By participating in our tours, you acknowledge a degree of personal risk such as falling over. By booking the tour, you accept this risk. Personal travel insurance is not covered by booking our tours, so as a participant we highly recommend that as a traveller you take out the necessary personal travel insurance and check that this covers you for the duration of your stay. We do not assume any financial responsibility for injury unless it is due to gross negligence by the guide.

  • DISPUTES AND RESOLUTION

If you wish to complain and believe you have grounds to do so about the tour you’ve attended, kindly advise the guide or us as the tour operator immediately so we can attempt to resolve the issue.

Also note we are not liable or responsible for any automatic communication that occurs from any third-party platform as part of completing the booking, such as ads or prompts to review the tour. We have carefully vetted the websites that we promote ourselves on, however they are still free to make alterations to their own Terms and Conditions at their discretion. Personal data provided to third-party vendors are also used at their discretion, so kindly consult the Terms and Conditions for the website you are booking through.

Any disagreements between the parties to this agreement or due to other factors will be settled by Norwegian law. I Love Bergen requests that the traveller reach out directly in order to settle any disagreement or dispute so that it can be resolved amicably. However should this not be possible, the judicial district of the company’s property will be the legal venue, and you hereby accept Hordaland District Court (Bergen Tingrett) as the legal venue.
